Scholarships

Grandstreet offers both need- and merit- based scholarships to support students. Need-based scholarship require an application, a brief statement from the student (for students under 8 a picture is fine), and a written recommendation from a teacher. Merit-based scholarships are awarded based on adjudicated auditions in the spring and are awarded at the Theatre School Celebration each May.

Need Based Scholarships

Students and families interested in need-based scholarships should complete the linked application. The application requires the following:

  1. Contact and student information
  2. A brief statement of financial need
  3. A brief statement from the student about why they are interested in attending Grandstreet Theatre School. For students under 8 years old, please have them draw a picture of themselves instead.
  4. A written recommendation from a teacher. The recommendation may either be attached to the application, or the teacher can reach out directly to Marianne Adams at ma[email protected] with their written recommendation.

In order to be considered for theatre school classes, please be aware of the following deadlines to submit your application.

  • Session 1 and Full Year Classes: Applications are due September 1, 2023
  • Sessions 2 & 3: Applications are due January 15, 2024
  • Summer Theatre School and Summer Mini Camps: Applications are due April 1, 2024

Audition-based Scholarships

Grandstreet offers a number of audition- and essay-based scholarships each spring for the following summer and school year.

Specific information about the requirements for these scholarships and how to apply will be available later this fall.  The application for these scholarships will open on February 1, 2024. The deadline for applications will be April 15, 2024, and the auditions will be held April 27, 2024.

These are auditions are for students enrolled in the school year program only. Only students who have attended Sessions 2 and 3 in 2024 will be able to audition.
